We support programs that provide services to those in poverty or crisis and who are in need of medical and emergency care.
Goal: United Way commits by 2021 to increase by 10% the number of services available to the uninsured and underinsured.
To reach this goal, over the past year we funded programs provided by:
Danville Pittsylvania Cancer Association helps uninsured/underinsured area cancer patients in obtaining access to healthcare by providing help with cancer related prescriptions, travel, supplies, equipment, education, support and other needs.
Danville Lifesaving Crew holds a mission to save lives, administer first aid, and teach safety for citizens in need 365 days a year.
Danville Speech and Hearing provides the highest quality professional speech/language pathology services at the lowest possible cost to citizens of the Dan River Region.
Danville Pittsylvania Community Services has a mission to provide the highest quality of mental health, intellectual disability, substance abuse and prevention services and support to the citizen’s of Danville and Pittsylvania County.
Piedmont Access to Health Services Patient Navigator program provides services to uninsured patients requiring specialty care.
The Free Clinic provides access to comprehensive healthcare services, education and wellness for qualified uninsured individuals.
American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
The Salvation Army provides feeding programs, homelessness prevention, budgeting classes and other programs that help families become stabilized.
